Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a high-performing development professional to originate, lead, and advance utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects throughout ERCOT. This role requires an experienced developer capable of independently creating opportunities, securing site control, navigating stakeholder environments, and driving milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.
• 5-7+ years in utility-scale renewables or related development.
• Experience securing site control and advancing milestones.
• Strong ERCOT market understanding and project economics.
• Experience leading contract negotiations and stakeholder engagement.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Texas and nearby markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead origination and greenfield development of utility-scale solar, wind, and standalone or co-located BESS projects across ERCOT.
• Develop market-based origination strategies and identify high-potential development corridors.
• Negotiate leases, purchase options, easements, and complex land agreements.
• Represent Avangrid Power in high-impact negotiations with landowners, county officials, economic development organizations, regulators, and community leaders.
• Manage project development activities including permitting, interconnection, commercial strategy, title, survey, and real estate diligence.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary internal teams and external consultants.
• Support acquisitions, joint ventures, and development partnerships.
• Present project recommendations and risk assessments to senior leadership.
