Job summary

SB Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to lead the drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts for renewable energy projects. You will collaborate with development, project management, engineering, interconnection, and capital markets teams to mitigate contractual risks and ensure project success.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple contracts with strict deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or business administration.
• 10+ years of experience as a Construction Contracts Manager in renewable energy.
• In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, contract negotiation, and project management principles.
• Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, including solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and wind.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess contractual risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end RFP development, evaluation, and selection for renewable energy projects.
• Negotiate and draft construction contracts that adhere to project requirements, legal guidelines, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address contractual risks and opportunities.
• Effectively communicate with senior executives both internally and externally.
• Conduct thorough analysis and review of contractual terms, including insurance, warranties, indemnities, and performance guarantees.
• Coordinate with the project management, consultants, and legal advisors to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to renewable energy projects.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficient contract management strategies.
• Provide regular updates on the status of contracts to the project teams and management.
• Maintain well-documented files to accurately track contract templates, approvals, executed contracts, and pending contracts.
• Interpret existing contracts and provide guidance to the project management and operations teams on contractual and interpretation issues.
• Demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making skills, even in ambiguous situations.
