Job summary

Epic Games seeks a Senior Rendering Engineer for the Fortnite Desktop team. You will enhance the player experience on PC by improving rendering features and building robust desktop platform support within Unreal Engine for Fortnite across diverse hardware and software configurations.

The role emphasizes solving complex rendering challenges, collaborating with GPU vendors, and delivering high-fidelity visuals. Strong C++ skills, multi-threading, and DirectX 12 experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ knowledge and multi-threaded programming techniques.
• Experience with real-time rendering in games or graphics industries (DirectX 12 preferred).
• Experience in profiling and optimizing a large codebase.
• Ability to reason about and debug large, interacting systems from macro- to micro-level.
• Experience with Windows APIs and common frameworks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve stability and performance problems of Fortnite on a wide range of PC hardware configurations.
• Monitor stability and performance data from Fortnite releases and improve Unreal Engine’s systems in Fortnite-specific use cases.
• Collaborate with Epic teams to solve complex technical challenges that move Fortnite and internal products forward.
