Job summary

Epic Games’ Fortnite Desktop team seeks an experienced Senior Rendering Engineer to enhance PC player visuals. You will work with engineers to build and improve Desktop platform support and render pipelines across hardware and software configurations.

This role involves analyzing stability, optimizing rendering performance, and collaborating with GPU vendors to resolve driver issues. You will contribute high-quality engine rendering code and help deliver a top-tier player experience across

Qualifications

• Strong C++ knowledge and multi-threaded programming techniques; ability to code and architect various core engine systems.
• Real-time rendering experience in the games industry or computer graphics; knowledge of DirectX 12 is preferred and a grounding in modern graphics API architecture.
• Experience in profiling and optimizing a large codebase.
• Ability to reason about and debug large, interacting systems from macro- to micro-level.
• OS-level systems knowledge; Windows APIs and common frameworks are a plus

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve stability and performance problems of Fortnite on a wide range of PC hardware configurations; address CPU/GPU performance and compatibility issues.
• Monitor stability and performance data from Fortnite releases and improve Unreal Engine’s rendering systems.
• Collaborate with GPU vendors and partners to resolve technical issues and improve drivers for Fortnite and Unreal Engine.
• Assess performance data across hardware and improve rendering systems for Fortnite-specific use cases.
• Work with Epic teams to solve complex technical challenges that advance Fortnite and internal projects forward
