Job summary

ECS is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer to work remotely on federal projects. The role focuses on building, testing, and deploying software across Linux, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud environments, with strong Python and Bash scripting.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design systems, manage CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, and ensure secure, scalable solutions for government clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• 8+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline development.
• Extensive experience using GitLab.
• Experience with OpenShift for containerization and Kubernetes.
• Strong scripting language skills (Python and Bash).
• Experience with SCM concepts and methodologies.
• Ability to work well with others, collaborate, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs and determine feasibility within time and cost constraints.
• Create, manage, and deploy containers to ensure scalable operations across environments.
• Collaborate with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and interfaces.
• Design, develop, and modify software systems using analysis and models to predict outcomes.
• Determine system performance standards.
• Develop or direct software testing or validation procedures and documentation.
• Monitor functionality to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Maintain configuration management policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Develop and maintain CM processes, SOPs, and related documents.
