Job summary

Baylor Genetics is seeking a Sr. Manager, Software Development to lead software engineering teams in designing, delivering, and maintaining scalable and secure software solutions.

You will partner with product, architecture, quality, security, and operations to align execution with priorities and customer needs. The role emphasizes engineering excellence, strong people leadership, and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle to ensure high-quality outcomes and delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technical field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development or related technical function.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience leading engineering teams or delivery efforts.
• Experience delivering software across the lifecycle in agile or hybrid environments.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, code quality, testing, deployment, and operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop software engineering teams across design, development, testing, deployment, and support of software applications or platforms.
• Set team direction, priorities, and delivery expectations in alignment with goals and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, QA, security, and operations to plan scalable and secure solutions.
• Oversee execution across the SDLC, including sprint planning, reviews, testing, releases, and production support.
• Provide coaching and career development to engineers and team leads.
