Job summary

Placer.ai seeks a Director of Pricing & Packaging to own pricing strategy across verticals and products, partnering with the COO, CRO, CFO, and CEO to align on profitability, conversion, and retention. This high-visibility role blends qualitative insights with quantitative modeling and cross-functional influence with GTM teams.

Qualifications

10+ years of professional work experience with 4+ years of pricing experience as an in-house pricing strategy owner or pricing consultant
Bachelor's degree in business, economics, accounting, or a similar quantitative field
Demonstrated success across pricing models (SaaS, credit/token, usage-based, etc.) and cross-functional alignment on pricing changes
Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration in distributed teams
Natural partner with sales, finance, product, and executives; strong stakeholder management
Strong research and quantitative modeling skills for customer value and pricing decisions
Ability to juggle multiple projects and strategic execution in a fast-paced environment
Experience with B2B SaaS/data subscription models preferred

Responsibilities

Set and evolve Placer's pricing and packaging strategy across all verticals and products.
Own monetization strategy and secure buy-in from executive leaders.
Design packaging and bundling by vertical and segment based on customer value.
Define discounting guardrails and executive alignment.
Collaborate with sales and deal desk to accelerate deal velocity and profitability.
Create templates, models and approval processes for pricing decisions with senior teams.
Stand up pricing processes for non-standard scenarios to avoid blocking sales.
Partner with Sales Ops on tracking and enablement of pricing programs.
Develop and update pricing strategies and rate cards to maximize ASP and retention
