Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to help turn homeownership dreams into reality. You’ll underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans, submit files to automated underwriting, and support branch partners with complex scenarios.

The role is primarily remote with occasional onsite meetings. Candidates should have DE/VA endorsements, 5+ years of underwriting experience, strong attention to detail, solid Excel skills, and familiarity with Encompass.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Active FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) and VA SAR/LAPP underwriting approval.
• Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative approach.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with mortgage and lending partners.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Encompass experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans per guidelines.
• Submit files via automated underwriting systems and evaluate results.
• Approve or pend loans and present files to loan committee.
• Act as underwriting resource for branches, handling complex files.
• Maintain 24–48 hour turnaround on submissions.
