Jobot is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter to play a critical role in turning homeownership dreams into reality. You will underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans, and guide files through underwriting systems with a focus on accuracy and speed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience.
• Active FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) and VA SAR/LAPP underwriting approval.
• Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative approach.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with mortgage and lending partners.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans per guidelines.
• Submit files through underwriting systems and evaluate results.
• Approve or pend loans and present qualifying files to loan committee.
• Serve as underwriting resource for branch partners, assisting with scenarios and complex files.
• Maintain a consistent 24-48 hour turnaround on new submissions and resubmissions.
• Ensure accurate loan documentation and proper file maintenance.
• Utilize office systems to support underwriting operations.
