Job summary

TruStage, a leading insurer and financial services provider, seeks a Claim Litigation Consultant II to independently assess coverage and liability, negotiate complex third-party litigated claims, and advise credit unions on risk and loss prevention. You will select investigators and outside counsel, coordinating with underwriting and legal teams while driving strong recovery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of claims experience with a focus on litigation.
• Knowledge of policy coverage and interpretation skills.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and customer focus.
• Ability to work independently, including remote environments.
• Proficient in MS Office and web applications; travel as needed.
• Licenses/education such as AIC or CPCU are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage litigation process on assigned claims to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate to resolution.
• Decide when external resources will be hired for investigations or legal services.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial and Legal staff.
• Provide education to partners and credit unions on risks and exposures.
• Demonstrate leadership, negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Provide timely reporting per claim handling guidelines.
• Understand applicable statutes, regulations and case law.
• Handle claims across multiple states and pursue maximum recovery.
