Job summary

TruStage in the United States is seeking a Claim Litigation Consultant II to independently investigate, evaluate, and resolve large and complex third-party litigated claim files. You will provide proactive consultative support to credit unions and collaborate with underwriting, risk management, actuarial, and Legal staff.

The role requires at least a bachelor’s degree and 7 years of claims experience with litigation focus; travel is required for mediations and trials, and familiarity with policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum 7 years of claims experience with a focus on litigation.
• Knowledge of policy coverage and interpretation skills.
• Ability to work independently, including in a remote office environment.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage litigation process on assigned claims to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate to resolution.
• Decide when external resources will be hired for investigations, expert analysis or legal services.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial and Legal staff.
• Provide education and information to partners and credit unions regarding risks and exposures.
• Demonstrate interpersonal, negotiation, analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Provide timely reporting as per claim handling guidelines.
• Understand applicable statutes, regulations and case law.
• Demonstrate knowledge of financial services operations.
• Handle claims in multiple states.
• Ensure maximum recovery or contribution is pursued.
