Job summary

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of inpatient hospital coding experience required.
• RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, or CIC certification required or to be obtained.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and PCS coding guidelines.
• Experience coding in a level 1 trauma facility preferred.
• Proficient with Windows-based applications and data abstraction.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign ICD-10 codes for inpatient care.
• Ensure accurate reimbursement and compliance with federal/state regulations.
• Query physicians to resolve unclear or incomplete documentation.
• Maintain high accuracy and productivity while minimizing abstraction errors.
