Job summary

Canonical is hiring a GitOps Engineering Manager to unite operations management, software engineering, and product development under one leadership role. You will guide a Linux-focused, high-performance team and drive devops excellence across cloud-native environments.

You will report to a global director and lead distributed teams in APAC/EMEA with remote work. Expect a strategic, hands-on role demanding strong technical and people leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering software with infrastructure-as-code approaches.
• Proven leadership of DevOps teams for SAAS or similar offerings.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and how they behave at scale.
• Experience with cloud topologies and related technologies.
• Willingness to travel up to twice a year for company events.
• Academic excellence demonstrated from schooling and university studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead your team in daily agile devops practices.
• Represent the IS team to stakeholders, customers, and internal teams.
• Organize, coordinate and drive internal projects.
• Mentor engineers to improve their skills.
• Identify and measure team health indicators.
• Implement structured engineering and operations processes.
• Ensure proper team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
• Work to meet service level agreements with customer deployments around the globe.
• Deliver quality managed services in a consistent, timely manner.
