Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Fire Protection Engineering Consultant to work on customer-facing projects, collaborating with AHJs and clients to ensure code compliance and functional protection systems. This role can be performed from home with travel to sites in the US and Canada.

You will develop reports and provide code references, stay current with NFPA standards, and communicate effectively with jurisdictional authorities. A Bachelor's degree and EIT eligibility, plus travel readiness, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; professional certification may be required.
• Have passed the EIT Examination and able to sit for Professional Engineering exam within 4 years.
• Willingness to travel 50% - mainly US/Canada, typically M-F for week-long trips; 2-3 day trips common.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering/design on projects; deliver effective, cost-efficient solutions.
• Develop and deliver client reports on updates to ensure compliance and operational functionality of fire protection systems.
• Provide code references and documentation for fire protection; research and interpret standards.
• Meet with jurisdiction authorities and clients to resolve compliance questions.
• Maintain knowledge of codes, standards, and practices to ensure compliance.
