Purpose of the Role
The Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for carrying out the full duties of a Field Service Engineer while providing day-to-day technical leadership and operational support to the wider engineering team. The role is predominantly field-based, repairing, servicing and maintaining welfare equipment at customer sites, while acting as the first point of support and escalation for other engineers.

Purpose of the Role
The Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for carrying out the full duties of a Field Service Engineer while providing day-to-day technical leadership and operational support to the wider engineering team. The role is predominantly field-based, repairing, servicing and maintaining welfare equipment at customer sites, while acting as the first point of support and escalation for other engineers.
Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs across the full range of welfare equipment at customer sites.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults safely and efficiently.
- Complete planned maintenance, breakdowns, inspections and emergency call-outs.
- Ensure work is completed in line with company standards, manufacturer specifications and health & safety requirements.
- Maintain high first-time fix rates and minimise repeat visits.
- Complete job documentation accurately and identify customer damage and recharge opportunities.
People Management Responsibilities
- Provide direct line management for a team of approximately 5 to 6 Field Service Engineers.
- Act as the first point of escalation for technical and operational support.
- Conduct regular 1-2-1s, probation reviews and performance reviews, setting objectives and supporting individual development.
- Manage attendance, annual leave and day-to-day people matters in line with company policy.
- Use site audits and inspections to coach, mentor and develop engineers to improve technical capability, productivity, quality and customer service.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and induction of new engineers.
- Foster a positive, accountable, high-performing team culture.
- Support the Field Service Engineering Manager with the day-to-day running of the engineering team.

Requirements
- Experience combined with relevant mechanical / electrical knowledge.
- Drivers licence.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexible with regards to travel, tasks performed and working hours.
- Ability to work alone or in a team.
