Job summary

Polarits is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Specialist for a 100% remote, long-term W2 backfill role. The candidate should have 7–10 years of hands-on experience in Java and Scala, plus expertise in building REST APIs and working with NoSQL databases.

Strong testing, debugging, and deployment skills are required, along with agility in a fast-paced environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions, produce estimates, and ensure quality

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Java development.
• 2+ years of experience with Scala.
• Experience designing and delivering REST APIs in Java/Scala.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and AWS is a plus.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and logging/monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and configure software systems end-to-end.
• Build Java/Scala based REST APIs per technical designs.
• Produce estimates for new functionality or enhancements.
• Create and execute unit tests for developed components.
• Troubleshoot production and other environments as needed.
