Job summary

Polarits is seeking a senior Java/Scala back-end engineer for a 100% remote, long-term W2 role. The candidate should have 7–10 years of experience and be able to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable REST APIs in Java/Scala, with exposure to AWS, NoSQL, and responsive logging via Splunk.

Ideal applicants will show strong problem-solving, ability to work under deadlines, and collaborate with Business Analysts to refine requirements. Visa considerations include H4 EAD, GC, GC EAD and USC.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Java development.
• 2+ years of experience with Scala.
• Provide functional and/or technical expertise to plan, analyse, define, and support delivery for an application.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java/Scala based REST APIs per technical designs.
• Produce estimates for new functionality or enhancements.
• Create and execute unit tests for developed components.
• Troubleshoot environments including production for development issues.
