This Opportunity

WSP is looking for a Senior Remediation Geologist for our Costa Mesa, CA office. We seek a candidate with experience in consulting, selling, managing, designing, and implementing environmental multi-media remediation programs for clients in sectors such as Industrial, Government, Energy, Oil & Gas, and Transportation. The ideal candidate is motivated to help expand our environmental consulting business in California and the West. WSP’s California offices offer services in engineering and environmental sciences, including environmental assessment, remediation, water/wastewater engineering, water resources, environmental compliance, geotechnical design, stormwater infrastructure, materials testing, and decision analysis.

Your Impact

1. Perform Business Development within the Oil & Gas and Industrial/Commercial Sectors for environmental remediation, engineering, and related services.
2. Oversee, mentor, and direct staff and project-level geologists and scientists.
3. Assist in preparing technical reports and proposals.
4. Interact effectively with local business leaders, office managers, sector leads, and senior employees across the firm.
5. Manage multiple projects, ensuring deliverables, schedules, and budgets are met.
6. Travel as needed to project sites for project execution and business development.
7. Meet sales, revenue, and delivery goals.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geoscience, or related science field.
• 5-7 years of related environmental remediation and sales experience.
• Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and lead engineers and technicians.
• Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, DTSC, Water Boards, and other CalEPA programs.
• Consulting experience with petroleum contamination (soil and groundwater), including LNAPL, or chlorinated solvent contamination.
• Experience with soil gas and vapor intrusion issues.
• Proven ability to develop and manage complex remediation projects.
• Ability to oversee remediation construction and operations.
• Must pass physical, background check, and have a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory record.
• Ability to pass HAZWOPER physical and medical exams, including respirator fit testing.
• WSP’s drug/alcohol testing policy compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree preferred.
• California PG registration.
• OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training preferred.
• Basic First Aid and CPR training desired.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $87,400 - $127,380. WSP reserves the right to adjust the offer based on experience and location.
