Job summary
Smurfit Westrock in Alabama is seeking a Reliability Engineer to lead and optimize the reliability of mill process equipment, reduce downtime, and improve asset health across the facility.
You will partner with maintenance and production teams, apply RCFA, predictive maintenance, and data analysis to drive cost reductions and uptime, while providing technical leadership and mentorship.
Candidates with 2+ years in reliability in pulp and paper or related manufacturing are preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of reliability experience in pulp and paper or related manufacturing.
- Strong engineering, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with predictive maintenance, reliability improvement, and RCFA methodologies.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage lubrication, inspection, and condition monitoring programs.
- Lead equipment reliability improvement efforts to increase availability and uptime.
- Reduce maintenance costs through analysis of repetitive failures and predictive maintenance data.
- Drive RCFA process and implement corrective actions.
- Provide leadership and daily technical assistance for reliability-related issues.
- Support outage planning, project implementation, and contractor management.
- Partner with Maintenance and Production teams to strengthen reliability culture.
