Job summary

Apptronik is seeking a Senior Staff Test Engineer - Reliability to own how we define, test, and prove the reliability of our complex electromechanical systems. You will set reliability targets and break MTBF down into subsystem requirements, then determine test quantity, duration, and confidence needed to meet targets.

This technical leadership role directs engineers on test plans, guides root-cause investigations across mechanical, electrical, and firmware domains, and runs a closed-loop FRACAS

Qualifications

• Experience leading reliability programs for complex electromechanical products.
• Hands-on reliability testing including life, HALT/HASS, thermal, environmental.
• Lead root-cause investigations across mechanical, electrical, and firmware domains.
• Mentor engineers and communicate reliability risks and tradeoffs to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define reliability targets and roadmap; break MTBF into subsystems and components.
• Lead reliability test planning; decide sample sizes, durations, and confidence levels.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and FRACAS; drive corrective actions to closure.
• Build reliability models (Weibull, FMEA inputs) and track MTBF growth over time.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
