Job summary

Apptronik is seeking a Senior Staff Test Engineer - Reliability to own how we define, test, and prove the reliability of our electromechanical systems. You will set MTBF targets and break them down to subsystem and component requirements, determine test quantity, duration, and confidence, and focus on high-risk areas.

This technical leadership role directs engineers on test plans, leads root-cause investigations across mechanical, electrical, and firmware domains, and runs FRACAS to feed field

Qualifications

• Experience leading reliability programs for complex electromechanical products.
• Hands-on reliability testing (life, accelerated, HALT/HASS, thermal, environmental).
• Lead root-cause investigations across mechanical, electrical, and firmware domains.
• Mentor engineers and communicate reliability risks and tradeoffs to leadership.
• BS in Engineering with 15+ years experience, or MS with 13+ years, or PhD with 12+ years.

Responsibilities

• Define reliability targets and allocate MTBF to subsystem and component targets.
• Lead reliability testing plans, sample sizes, durations, and confidence levels.
• Run FRACAS-based failure reporting and feed data back into design.
• Build life/failure-rate models (Weibull, FMEA inputs, fault trees).
• Mentor engineers and present reliability progress to leadership.
