Job summary

Apptronik, a robotics company, is seeking a Senior Hardware Test Engineer to own validation, reliability, and production testing for electronic components behind its robots—PCBAs, wiring harnesses, sensors, and compute modules.

You will design test campaigns, define methods and fixtures (ICT, flying probe, functional test), and work with design, firmware, and manufacturing teams to scale testing into production.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 4+ years, or PhD with 2+ years.
• Hands-on experience validating electronic hardware (PCBAs, wiring harnesses, sensors, compute modules) using bench equipment.
• Experience with production test methods (ICT, flying probe, functional test) and fixture design.
• Knowledge of HALT/HASS, stress profiling, and harness field failure drivers.
• Strong debugging skills to root-cause failures to board/connector/component level.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute test campaigns for PCBAs, wiring harnesses, sensors and compute modules across electrical, thermal, and environmental conditions.
• Design and run HALT to identify margins and failure modes; develop HASS screens; define harness tests and pass/fail criteria.
• Characterize sensors (IMU, encoder, force/torque, camera, thermal) and stress compute parameters to find performance limits.
• Build fixtures and test automation; diagnose failures with actionable feedback to design.
• Develop test methods and handoff to Manufacturing Test for production readiness.
