Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to make systems more reliable by building observability, tooling, and automation. You will own Tier-1 journeys, define SLOs, and drive incident response with AI-assisted approaches.

Expect to scale during peak traffic with minimal customer impact and improve latency and observability across the stack. You will lead capacity planning, build automated pipelines, and mentor teams on reliability best practices.

Qualifications

5+ years in Software/SRE/Platform or Infra with reliability outcomes.
Strong fundamentals: write code and build tooling across stack.
Hands-on depth in observability and SLO engineering with actionable alerts.

Responsibilities

Own reliability for Tier 1 customer journeys by defining/instrumenting SLOs and monitors.
Lead capacity and resilience for peak load and incidents; analyze bottlenecks and harden systems.
Mature incident response by integrating FireHydrant, Datadog, Jira; define/runbooks and post-mortems.
Build AI-enabled tooling and agents to reduce manual OE work and automate triage.
Debug complex cross-boundary failures; share learnings via runbooks and pairing.
Maintain OE reviews tooling and drive action items to closure.
Mentor teams on SLOs, blameless post-mortems, and on-call practice.
