Job summary

Hims, Inc. is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to raise system reliability across critical customer journeys. You will define SLOs, instrument golden signals, and build monitors for checkout, telehealth visits, and prescription fulfillment.

You will shape automation for incident response and champion AI-assisted tooling. You will lead capacity planning, runbooks, and post-mortems, working with FireHydrant, Datadog, Jira, and Confluence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Software, SRE, Platform, or Infra engineering owning reliability outcomes.
• Strong fundamentals; write code and build tooling to solve reliability problems.
• Hands-on depth in observability and SLO engineering (Datadog preferred).
• Production experience with AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform, PostgreSQL (RDS/Aurora).
• Experience running/incidents from on-call design to blameless post-mortems.
• Daily use of AI coding/analysis tools like Claude or similar for investigation.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability for Tier 1 customer journeys with SLOs and monitors.
• Lead capacity and resilience work for peak load and failures; analyze bottlenecks.
• Build incident response tooling: integrate FireHydrant, Datadog, Jira; maintain runbooks and severity standards.
• Automate operational excellence with AI; develop agents and tooling for OE tasks.
• Be the deep-debugging expert; guide teams on cross-boundary issues and post-incident learning.
• Maintain tooling for OE reviews and drive action items to closure.
• Document builds, onboard teammates, and coach on SLOs and on-call practices.
