Job description

Cox Automotive is seeking a talented Senior Release Train Engineer to join their team. The Senior RTE is an outcomes-driven problem solver responsible for leading large and complex Agile Release Trains (ART) to success by managing the delivery of software solutions across diverse environments.

The Senior RTE must creatively resolve and escalate impediments, manage risks, ensure value delivery, and drive continuous improvement at the program level. They serve as a critical link between multiple Scrum teams, facilitating communication, sharing progress updates, and ensuring focus on successful delivery. The Senior RTE is accountable for coordinating, executing, and delivering value through the program while aligning with company strategies and goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Overseeing strategic release trains with complex scope and inter-dependencies.
  2. Facilitating ceremonies and work management for the Release Train Team and associated delivery teams.
  3. Coordinating release planning and stakeholder communication during feature definition and delivery.
  4. Managing the backlog and ensuring data integrity in ALM tools for accurate reporting, including metrics and KPIs.
  5. Coordinating major feature releases and ongoing delivery involving multiple teams or solution groups.
  6. Resolving issues, managing dependencies, and mitigating risks across ARTs and delivery teams.
  7. Using agile metrics and ceremonies to identify improvements and maximize organizational performance.
  8. Participating in RTE and Scrum Master communities to maintain alignment and improve practices.
  9. Collaborating with communities to enhance cross-training and coordination across ARTs.
  10. Applying Agile principles pragmatically with stakeholder management.

WHO YOU ARE

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 4+ years of experience, or equivalent combinations such as a master's degree with 4 years, a Ph.D. with 1 year, or 10 years of related experience.
  • At least 4 years' experience as a Release Train Engineer.
  • Previous experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Agile Project/Program Manager.
  • Strong technical skills and experience leading software delivery teams.
  • Experience with ALM tools preferred; Rally or Targetprocess experience is a plus.

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Experience interpreting agile metrics.
  • Ability to facilitate large planning and solutioning sessions.
  • Understanding of Agile at scale methodologies.
  • Experience with Organizational Change Management.
  • Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum, XP, Kanban, or scaled Agile practices.

Compensation ranges from USD 99,000 to 165,000 annually, with potential for additional incentives. Benefits include flexible paid vacation, holidays, wellness hours, and various leave options.
