Job summary

EPS, a leader in electrical acceptance testing and maintenance, seeks a Sr. Relay Technician in Riverside, CA. You will perform and supervise relay testing and maintenance in substations, using specialized relay test equipment to ensure reliability and safety.

You will lead field activities, perform complex troubleshooting, analyze protection schemes, and deliver final test results with as-built documentation to customers.

Qualifications

• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Criminal background check completed satisfactorily.
• Willing to work overtime and travel as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays.
• Capable of troubleshooting distribution and transmission controls.
• Knowledge of relay test software; familiarity with protective relays.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings on site and manage hazards.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and components.
• Install, commission, test and energize relay panels and related circuits.
• Perform end-to-end relay testing using relay test software.
• Lead project execution, commissioning, outages, and energization procedures.
• Interface with customers and provide final deliverables including as-built prints.
