Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Relay Field Technician in Indianapolis to join our Field Engineering team. You will perform testing, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of substation relaying equipment, SCADA interfaces, and related controls in transmission and distribution settings.

The role requires at least five years of hands-on experience, knowledge of AC/DC schematics, relays, and test procedures, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of field experience in commissioning, panel and equipment checkout.
• Experience in substation design or commissioning is desirable.
• 3 phase power systems and protection schemes knowledge.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Reading and properly interpreting substation drawings such as single line drawings and schematics.
• Assist in writing procedures and test plans for maintenance and construction activities.
• Testing relays, metering, alarms and function switches during commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Perform routine troubleshooting and repair of substation relaying and control equipment.
• Plan, schedule and complete test activities on time with no service interruptions.
• Provide Project Technical Support to Field Service personnel.
