Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Relay Field Technician to join our Field Engineering team in the United States. The role focuses on testing and routine maintenance of transmission and distribution substation power equipment, including relays (electro‑mechanical, solid state and micro‑processor), pilot channel gear, and related controls and communications equipment.

Qualifications

• 5 years of field experience in commissioning, panel/equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing and repair
• Experience in substation protection, control engineering, SCADA or related equipment
• Proficient with test equipment usage and reading wiring/diagrams

Responsibilities

• Interpret substation drawings (single line, schematics, wiring diagrams)
• Write procedures and test plans for maintenance and construction
• Perform relay testing, calibration and fault/trip verification (SCADA/local)
• Troubleshoot and repair substation relaying and control equipment
• Plan, schedule and complete test activities with no service interruptions
• Provide project technical support to field service personnel
