Job summary

Qualus in the United States seeks a Senior Relay Field Technician to power the future of our Field Engineering team. The role involves testing and maintenance of substation relaying, pilot channels, and related controls and communications equipment.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, writing test procedures, performing precise relay tests, fault data review, and supporting field crews. A minimum of 5 years in the field is expected, with strong communication and safety adherence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years field experience in commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing and repairing substation relaying and control schemes.
• Experience in substation design, SCADA/Fault Data/SER/Integration-Automation equipment installation and testing.
• 3 phase power systems; protection & control schemes; test equipment and test equipment software

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting substation drawings.
• Write procedures and test plans for maintenance activities.
• Perform testing including voltage/current verifications, metering, calibration and trip testing.
• Troubleshoot and repair substation relaying and control equipment; commission substations and related equipment.
• Plan, schedule, and complete test activities on time without service interruptions.
• Provide Project Technical Support to Field Service personnel
