Job summary

Principal Financial Group is seeking a Sr. Relationship Manager/Director to lead strategic relationships with large employers and retirement plans across the Midwest to the East Coast.

This remote role prioritizes clients, growth, and retirement readiness while collaborating with advisors and plan sponsors to uncover opportunities. The position requires extensive relationship management, sales experience, and the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related industry experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, training, military experience, education.
• 7+ years of relationship management and sales experience preferred.
• Must possess leadership, presentation, negotiation, organization, problem solving, persuasive communication, critical thinking, and planning skills.
• Travel approximately 25-50% of the time; overnight stays are required.
• Experience building client relationships and influencing at all levels including senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the plan sponsor and the consultant on plan design, investments, retirement readiness, services and new opportunities.
• Partner on sales opportunities.
• Planning with C-Suite executives on multiple plan types.
