Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services in Novato, CA seeks an Occupational Therapist to deliver patient-focused therapy and lead a therapy team. You will evaluate patients, develop and obtain approvals for treatment plans, and supervise aides according to policy and state/federal requirements.

You will document care, manage Medicare processes with the rehabilitation director, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OT evaluation and treatments.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides.
• Understanding of physical modalities used in OT.
• Knowledge of prosthetic/orthotic devices and assistive equipment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with all patient types.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Aids in restoration and enhancement of independent function.
• Provides patient treatments and develops treatment plans with physician approvals.
• Supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and/or Aides.
• Documents services in the medical record and submits billing information.
• Communicates with families and other health team members about progress.
• Educates families and staff on follow-through programs.
• Interprets patient needs and coordinates with rehabilitation team.
• Ensures safety and compliance with regulations.
