Placements24 is recruiting a seasoned Legal Counsel specialising in Regulatory Compliance for our client in Upington, Northern Cape. You will interpret regulatory requirements, develop compliance programs, and advise senior management on legal risks and obligations.

The role requires a SA-qualified attorney with at least 6 years of regulatory experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to translate complex rules into practical business solutions across departments.

Qualifications

• Admitted SA attorney with 6+ years in regulatory compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of South African regulatory frameworks relevant to the sector.
• Experience developing and managing compliance programs and risk controls.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Develop, implement, and manage the company's compliance program.
• Advise on regulatory requirements related to permits, licenses, and environmental standards.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and submit regulatory filings and reports.
• Respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies and manage investigations.
• Develop and deliver training on compliance matters to employees.
• Liaise with external legal counsel on regulatory issues.
• Ensure policies and procedures align with regulatory requirements.
