Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with a minimum of 5 years post-admission experience, preferably in corporate law, compliance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs and policies.
• In-depth knowledge of South African corporate law, King IV principles, and relevant industry regulations.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• High ethical standards and integrity.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Experience in the manufacturing or logistics sector is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain corporate compliance programs and policies.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting the company and advise on necessary adjustments.
• Provide guidance on corporate governance best practices to the board and management.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and internal audits.
• Manage regulatory reporting and liaise with relevant government authorities.
• Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver compliance training to employees.
• Advise on ethical conduct and foster a culture of integrity.
• Support the legal department in contract reviews and general legal advisory matters.
