Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Transmission Construction Manager SG10 to lead the regional construction management team across multiple high- and mid-scale transmission projects. You will direct project plans, schedules, staffing, and safety programs to ensure on-time, within-budget execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management/Engineering/Project Management or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with a Bachelor\'s degree, or 10 years with an Associate degree, in major construction projects, project management, transmission engineering or transmission operations.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Transmission Construction Superintendent, Project Manager, or supervisor preferred.
• Experience as Site Construction Manager or equivalent for large projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide management, direction, and leadership to the Regional CM Team for multiple construction projects, planning and directing safe, efficient execution.
• Coach and influence department employees on culture, safety, and goals; focus on knowledge expansion and performance.
• Develop capital plans, assess risk, and plan schedules; monitor regional project timelines and resource planning.
• Maintain safety as a core value; ensure compliance with AEP safety requirements and zero harm culture.
• Oversee and coordinate construction activities, communicate project details and status to stakeholders; support schedule and cost improvements.
• Assist with bid evaluations, contractor qualification and selection, and QA/QC to ensure work follows specs and permits.
