Job summary

Great American Insurance Group seeks a Commercial Surety Underwriting Regional Manager/Sr. Manager for the Southwest Region, with cities such as Denver, Los Angeles, or Phoenix. This in-office role involves travel within the territory and oversight of branch underwriting activities.

You will analyze reports, manage risk selection, pricing, retention, and profitability while developing strategic relationships and delivering exceptional service to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Field of Study: Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• 9+ years of experience with 4+ years in management; certifications favored (AFSB, CPA, RPLU).

Responsibilities

• Analyze business reports in underwriting: credit checks, bank agreements, financials.
• Own risk selection, pricing, retention, growth, and branch profitability decisions.
• Assess risk quality per company guidelines.
• Review others' underwriting and recommend surety credit terms.
• Build and maintain strategic internal/external relationships.
• Communicate effectively and stay highly organized.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and timely decisions.
• Lead, coach, and develop team.
• Uphold integrity and accountability toward objectives.
