Job summary

Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Commercial Surety Underwriting Regional Manager/Sr. Manager for the Southwest Region, with Los Angeles, Denver or Phoenix as likely bases. The role requires in‑office work and travel within the territory, leading underwriting teams to achieve profitable growth.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, with 9+ years in underwriting and 4+ years in management. Certifications such as AF SB, CPA or RPLU are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting or related field.
• 9+ years of related underwriting experience and 4+ years of management experience.
• Progress toward industry certifications such as AFSB, CPA or RPLU preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and analyze business reports used in underwriting processes.
• Responsible for risk selection, pricing, retention and profitability for the branch.
• Assess risk quality in line with company guidelines.
• Review underwriting of others and recommend credit terms and conditions.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders.
• Coach and develop team and deliver exceptional customer service.
