Core Specialty is seeking a Commercial Surety Regional Manager to lead underwriting, marketing, production, profitability, and portfolio management across a defined territory in the United States. You will develop agency relationships, set risk appetite, and exercise significant underwriting authority to drive profitable growth.

The role emphasizes market-facing leadership, talent development, and collaboration with claims, legal, accounting, and operations to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g. AFSB, CPCU, etc.) is preferred.
• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in underwriting roles within the surety industry.
• Strong financial statement analysis and credit underwriting skills.
• Demonstrated success developing agency relationships and generating profitable growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting for the assigned territory and set pricing/terms.
• Develop and maintain relationships with agents, brokers, and insureds.
• Travel throughout the territory to maintain agency and client relationships.
• Recruit, train, and mentor commercial surety underwriters.
• Own profit and loss results and monitor portfolio profitability.
• Develop regional marketing and production plans to drive growth.
• Represent the company at events and drive production and partnerships.
