Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an experienced Lead Refrigeration Systems Engineer to join our Trane Commercial Systems organization and lead all aspects of equipment design and integration for Water-to-Water product lines. You will model performance, supervise validation testing, and drive quality and reliability issues to root cause.

You will collaborate with Chiller Engineering teams in La Crosse, WI and Pueblo, CO, and support groups in Shanghai and Bangalore, traveling up to 10% domestically

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 10+ years of engineering work experience.
• Mechanical engineering preferred; HVAC background in chilled and heating water systems.
• Experience with product design, BOMs, engineering specs, and manufacturing.
• Understanding of HVAC system functions including refrigeration, airflow and heat transfer.

Responsibilities

• Design and innovate HVAC refrigeration systems to meet performance, sustainability, regulatory, quality and cost targets.
• Lead major system development projects, plan schedules, report status, and meet milestones.
• Create and execute computer models to simulate unit performance.
• Analyze system issues using appropriate modeling tools; collaborate with specialists as needed.
• Govern and lead design reviews (FMEA/DFMEA/DVP&R) to ensure robust designs.
• Develop and document HVAC system level control requirements and sequences of operations.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers and technicians.
• Support field and factory problem resolution and qualification testing activities.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to ~10%, with visa requirements as applicable.
