Job summary

CoolSys - Refrigeration and HVAC Systems is seeking a Senior/Service Technician to repair and overhaul commercial refrigeration equipment at customer sites in the Portsmouth, VA area. You will diagnose malfunctions, perform preventative maintenance, and handle service tickets while delivering safe, timely, and quality work.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of refrigeration experience, EPA certification, and the ability to work independently, with on-call availability and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• EPA refrigeration certification required.
• Trade school certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5+ years of commercial refrigeration experience.
• Experience with display cases, walk-in boxes and rack systems is a strong plus.
• Must have a good driving record and be able to work independently.
• Emergency on-call availability required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and overhaul commercial refrigeration equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform general repair on HVACR units including compressors, pumps and air handlers.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and provide preventative maintenance.
• Process job tickets and route work orders to appropriate departments.
• Mentor new or junior technicians as needed.
• Maintain truck inventory and operate company vehicle safely.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Education

High school diploma/GED

EPA certification

Trade school certification (plus)

5+ years refrigeration experience

Experience with grocery store/supermarket equipment

Valid driving license
