Job summary

Petro Star Inc. in Alaska seeks an experienced Purchasing & Inventory Control Manager to lead procurement and inventory management across the North Pole Refinery and Valdez Refinery, ensuring material readiness and reliable supply for operations.

Reporting to the VP of Refining, you will balance strategic sourcing with hands-on support for maintenance and turnaround needs, optimize stock levels, and drive data quality, supplier performance, and cross-site improvements.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management in heavy industry.
• 3–5+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience supporting maintenance and turnaround environments preferred.
• Experience across multiple sites or centralized functions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement of materials, equipment, and services across NPR and PSVR.
• Develop sourcing strategies balancing cost, quality, lead time, and reliability.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supplier terms.
• Oversee inventory control for maintenance, operations, and turnaround materials across NPR and PSVR.
• Balance and optimize inventory between sites and ensure readiness for turnaround planning.
