Job summary

Brindley Engineering is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to design and oversee capital-project electrical systems, specify installations, and drive reliability across refinery equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• P.E. licensure preferred.
• Experience with high voltage equipment and substations up to 138 kV preferred.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Proficient with SAP, MS Office (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations).

Responsibilities

• Design moderately complex electrical systems for capital projects for all electrical distribution equipment and substation specifications.
• Support Maintenance Technicians with complex field problems during project execution; assist in technical training and mentorship for new technologies.
• Develop, review, and modify refinery electrical standards with vendors' recommendations and NFPA codes.
• Develop Turnaround work and ensure all scope is captured in conceptual phase of project.
• Provide calculations and settings for new installations (UPS systems, motors, transformers, relays, etc.).
• Act as electrical subject matter expert for the project group for all electrical scope of capital projects.
• Review and approve electrical system studies for refinery up to 138 kV; recommend improvements; update SKM model.
• Update refinery documentation for electrical modifications (one-lines, motor schematics, relays, substations).
• Review IFA Packages and direct EPCs to follow Client Standards.
• Assist maintenance with technical expertise during unplanned events.
