Job summary

University of Washington is seeking a Senior Program Manager for Recruiting and Events in the Department of Medicine. The role leads senior leadership recruitment, develops centralized event programs, and enhances onboarding and workforce readiness for leaders across the department.

You will collaborate with executive leadership, HR, and School of Medicine stakeholders to optimize candidate experiences, events, and program management while maintaining UW’s brand and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Communications, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible events and program management and recruiting experience, including executive-level searches.
• Experience in a highly complex, academic or healthcare environment.
• Ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and exercise independent judgment.
• Demonstrated collaboration with cross-functional partners in a large organization.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
• Knowledge of HR principles, recruitment, compliance, and candidate/customer service practices.
• Commitment to inclusive practices and positive employee experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead senior leadership recruitment efforts in partnership with HR teams; establish goals, KPIs, and reporting for data-driven decisions.
• Develop centralized events strategy; manage an annual events calendar and standardize event planning processes.
• Oversee hiring experience initiatives from recruitment through onboarding; track metrics and improve candidate experiences.
• Provide executive support for the Chair’s Office and coordinate high-profile initiatives and projects.
• Coordinate onboarding activities for new leaders and partnerships with university HR systems.
• Support compliance with university and regulatory requirements related to events and public-facing activities.
