The Recruiter plays a key role in delivering full‑cycle recruiting for mid- to senior‑level Operations positions across the organization. This role serves as a trusted talent advisor to hiring leaders, developing and executing effective recruitment strategies that align with business needs, talent market conditions, and organizational priorities.
The Recruiter demonstrates a strong talent‑hunter mentality by proactively identifying, sourcing, engaging, and cultivating diverse talent pipelines while effectively marketing Xcel Energy as an employer of choice. This position builds strong internal and external relationships and provides consultation throughout the hiring process to deliver a best‑in‑class candidate and hiring leader experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including intake and recruitment strategy development, sourcing, candidate screening and assessment, interview coordination, candidate presentation, offer development and negotiation, and pre‑hire activities.
- Partner and consult with hiring leaders to understand business needs, position requirements, talent availability, and market conditions and develop effective recruiting strategies.
- Proactively source and engage qualified talent through networking, professional organizations, online platforms, databases, referrals, and other creative sourcing channels.
- Develop and maintain strong, diverse talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Serve as a talent advisor to hiring leaders by providing insight and guidance related to recruiting strategy, candidate selection, compensation considerations, market trends, and the overall hiring process.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, hiring leaders, HR partners, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate Xcel Energy’s employee value proposition and employment opportunities to attract and engage high‑quality talent.
- Deliver a consistent, professional, and best‑in‑class experience for candidates and hiring leaders throughout the recruitment process.
- Embed employer brand, diversity, equity and inclusion, and equal employment opportunity principles throughout recruiting and selection activities.
- Manage multiple requisitions and priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of responsiveness, organization, and attention to detail.
- Work effectively and independently with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders and executives.
- Maintain knowledge of company programs, compensation practices, talent strategies, and relevant employment policies and practices to effectively support hiring decisions.
- Successful candidates will demonstrate strong sourcing and recruiting capabilities, business acumen, relationship‑building and consultation skills, sound judgment, and the ability to influence and partner with leaders. The Recruiter should be self‑directed, results‑oriented, adaptable, and motivated to deliver high‑quality talent solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
- BS/BA degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or a combination of education and experience).
- 3-10+ years experience in full cycle recruitment (direct sourcing, corporate recruitment) including consultative partnership with business leaders to define talent needs.
- Ability to travel occasionally and commute to events and company locations as needed.

- Prior Applicant Tracking System (ATS) experience required. Workday ATS highly preferred
