Job summary

City of Delray Beach seeks a Recreation Supervisor to plan and supervise diverse activities for all ages and to oversee staff under Parks and Recreation. The role requires ensuring safe, engaging programs and coordinating events across facilities.

Responsibilities include supervising participants, maintaining safety, conducting drills, and supporting city-wide employee relations. Requires valid Florida driver's license and relevant certifications; occasionally covers special events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED certification.
• At least 2 years of verifiable supervisory experience in childcare, recreation programming or related field.
• AA Degree diploma or above.
• One year of verifiable supervisory experience in a related or unrelated field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise various recreational activities, games, programs, field trips, events and sporting activities for age groups from preschool to seniors.
• Supervise a specified group of participants indoors and outdoors; some with special needs.
• Provide and maintain a safe environment and complete injury/incident reports as required.
• Conduct crisis response drills, fire drills, and all emergency procedures.
• Foster positive employee relations and morale city‑wide.
• Drive recreation van on field trips as required.
• Be available for four mandatory special events (July 4th, Tree Lighting, Holiday Parade, St Patrick’s Parade).
