Job summary

The City of Delray Beach is seeking a technically capable Recreation Program staff member to plan, coordinate, and supervise activities at designated facilities. You will oversee programs for varied ages and ensure a safe environment, completing injury reports as needed.

You will conduct crisis drills, assist with maintenance, and may operate a recreation van for field trips. Strong customer service, MS Office skills, and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma, at least 18 years of age at time of application
• Six (6) months of verifiable experience in childcare, recreation programming, customer service or related field
• Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver's License, with a good driving record
• Must possess or obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire
• Knowledge of Logic Pro 10 for positions assigned to 505 Teen Center Recording Studio
• Ability to pass scheduled physical exams in compliance with Florida Department of Health

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates and supervises recreational activities, games, programs, field trips, events and sports for varied age groups
• Supervise a specified group of participants indoors and outdoors, some with special needs
• Provide and maintain a safe environment and complete injury/incident reports
• Conduct crisis and fire drills and all emergency procedures
• Assist with routine maintenance inside and outside of facility
• Drive recreation van on field trips as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Foster positive employee relations and morale city-wide
• Available to work four mandatory special events (July 4th, Tree Lighting, Holiday Parade, St Patrick’s Parade)
