Job summary

City of Folsom’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a Senior Recreation Coordinator to plan, organize, direct and evaluate community programs and facility use. This role reports to the Recreation Supervisor and may supervise lower-level staff, including coordinating schedules, budgets, and events.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field and at least one year in a lead recreation role, with CPR/First Aid certifications desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in recreation, leisure management, or closely related field.
• One year of full-time experience as Recreation Coordinator II or three years in recreation leadership with leadwork.
• California Class C driver license by appointment or with accommodations.
• CPRP certification desirable and various first aid/CPR certifications may be required later.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate diverse recreation programs and events.
• Oversee program budgets and maintain calendars for multiple facilities.
• Coordinate with community groups to develop programs and manage facility use.
• Supervise lower-level staff, assign work, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Prepare written reports for division, department or commission.
