Job summary

The City of Federal Way is seeking a Recreation Manager to supervise the Parks & Recreation Division, including Athletics, Special Events, Community Recreation, Senior and Inclusion Programs. You will plan, implement, schedule, supervise and evaluate programs, hire and train staff, and help with long-range planning.

You will oversee facilities, user fees, and market the division’s services, coordinating with the Community Center Manager and other departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation and Leisure Services or related field.
• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in recreation programming, marketing, budget planning and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Athletics, Special Events, Community Recreation, Senior and Inclusion Programs.
• Hire, train and supervise staff across multiple classifications.
• Oversee recreation facilities, budgets and long-range planning.
• Develop and implement recreation programs and user fees.
• Coordinate with Community Center Manager and other departments.
• Oversee market staff and volunteers for events and markets.
