Job summary

Douglas County is seeking a part-time Recreation Leader Senior to support the Valley (Gardnerville) location. Responsibilities include managing registrations, leading youth programs, ensuring safety, handling financial transactions, and maintaining a clean, well-run facility.

The role is 20–29 hours per week, does not include health benefits but offers prorated sick and annual leave and PERS benefits, with on-site duties at the Community Center.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience leading recreational activities; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License
• First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogen, CPR, and AED certification within six (6) months of date of employment

Responsibilities

• Handles registrations and payments at front counter.
• Leads and supervises recreation programs and activities.
• Ensures safety and monitors participants.
• Maintains records and reports on attendance and incidents.
• Operates facility equipment and assists with setup for events.
