Job summary

LGS Recreation Department in Los Gatos, CA, seeks a Senior Recreation Leader to plan, coordinate and supervise activities at a community daycare facility. You will also act as on-site manager in the absence of Site Supervisor 1 and mentor Recreation Leaders.

Responsibilities include organizing games, ensuring safety, and developing age-appropriate programs for children while working with families and community partners. The role supports ongoing program development and staff training.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise and engage children in recreational activities.
• Experience in planning and coordinating programs for a daycare setting.
• Willingness to mentor and guide Recreation Leaders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing games and maintain discipline in play areas.
• Observe safety procedures and render routine first aid for minor injuries.
• Conduct a diversified program of children’s activities.
• Assist Site Supervisor 1 in supervising and coordinating activities.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by Site Supervisor 1.
• Chaperone field trips and supervise activities as needed.
• Ensure cleanliness of facilities and inspect equipment and playgrounds for maintenance.
• Develop rapport with children and parents and discipline per Agency guidelines.
• Maintain program equipment and supplies and plan new activities.
• Attend mandatory trainings and mentor other staff.
• Build positive relations with parents, school staff, and recreation employees.
