Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer in Huntsville to develop software for Tactical strike guided munition programs. You will contribute to robust software frameworks, fielding, and maintenance of critical systems. Responsibilities include design of full-stack architectures for missile applications and mentoring junior engineers.

Required 4+ years of experience, a Bachelor’s in a relevant field, and ability to obtain DoD security clearance. North Alabama residency or relocation is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, CS, CE, EE, Aerospace or related field with GPA 3.0+.
• 4+ years of relevant technical experience in software development.
• US citizen eligible for DoD security clearance.
• Experience with embedded software interfaces and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement full-stack software architectures for missile system applications (guidance, navigation, control, telemetry).
• Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
• Select tools and development approaches; mentor junior engineers.
• Ensure modularity, reusability, portability, and maintainability of software.
• Interface with customers and teams; support flight test operations and post-test analysis.
